About

Takeoff and estimating, without the heavy software

Tally is a web app that turns plans and models into priced quotes. It exists so trade professionals can win work instead of wrestling software.

Why Tally exists

Pricing real jobs happens under time pressure. Estimators think in plans, counts, metres, and dollars, not in CAD software. Most takeoff tools assume you own heavyweight design software, or have the time to learn it. Tally makes a different assumption: you have a plan set or a model, a browser, and a quote due.

What Tally does

Upload a PDF plan set or a 3D model, Revit or IFC. Set the scale, then measure runs, trace areas, and count symbols, with AI assistance when you want a hand. Your own rates and formulas turn quantities into a priced quote, and you export a clean spreadsheet or a marked up plan PDF. The whole takeoff happens in your browser: no plugins, no CAD licence, no desktop install.

What we believe

Accuracy comes first. A quantities tool with wrong numbers is worse than no tool, so Tally is built to capture everything in your file and to keep totals faithful to what you measured.

Your takeoff is yours. What appears in your quantities is decided by you: your categories, your grouping, your exclusions. Tally never silently drops or hides your data.

Fast beats fancy. Estimating is a race against the tender deadline, so the tool stays quick, plain spoken, and predictable.

Who it is for

Tally is built for trade estimators across electrical, plumbing, drainage, HVAC, fire, and building work. It is made in New Zealand and designed for the way trades in Australia and New Zealand actually price jobs, and it works anywhere a browser does.
